KKAPP Software Inc. (“KKAPP Software”, “we”, “us”) operates the PScanner mobile application and this website at kkappsoftware.com. This policy explains how we handle information when you use PScanner or contact us.
Scope
This policy applies to the PScanner app and related services provided by KKAPP Software. It does not cover third-party websites or app stores except where they process payments on our behalf.
What we collect
- Paystub images or PDFs you upload or photograph for analysis.
- Context you provide, such as country, province or state, pay frequency, and employment type.
- Email address if you choose to receive a summary by email.
- Purchase information processed by Google Play or the Apple App Store when you buy a scan, including purchase tokens or transaction identifiers needed to verify and fulfill the purchase. We do not receive or store full payment card numbers.
- Technical data such as IP address, used temporarily for rate limiting and abuse prevention.
- Support correspondence if you email us.
How we use information
- To analyze visible paystub information and generate an informational summary.
- To verify and fulfill in-app purchases and prevent reuse of the same purchase.
- To send an email summary when you request one.
- To operate, secure, and improve the service (including rate limiting).
- To respond to privacy or support inquiries.
What we do not do
- We do not permanently store uploaded paystub files after analysis completes.
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not provide legal, tax, accounting, payroll, or employment advice.
- We do not use advertising identifiers or third-party advertising SDKs in PScanner.
Third-party services
We use trusted providers to operate PScanner, including:
- Cloud hosting for the backend API (currently Render)
- OpenAI for paystub analysis processing (paystub image content and the context you provide are sent for that analysis request; we request that OpenAI not store the API inputs for model training via our API settings)
- Google Play Billing and Apple In-App Purchase for scan purchases
- Resend for optional email delivery
- Google Fonts for fonts on this website (not used inside the PScanner analysis flow)
These providers process data only as needed to deliver the service and under their own privacy terms.
Data retention
Paystub uploads are processed for a single analysis request. During processing, a temporary file may be written to disk and is deleted when the request finishes. Paystub files are not retained by our backend after that request completes.
Email addresses provided for summary delivery are used to send the requested message through Resend. We do not keep a separate long-term email marketing list.
Purchase tokens or transaction identifiers are stored on our servers to prevent the same purchase from being used for more than one scan. These identifiers are purchase proofs, not payment card numbers, and may be kept for as long as needed for that anti-reuse purpose.
IP addresses used for rate limiting are kept in short-lived server memory and are not stored in our purchase database.
Security
Data is transmitted over HTTPS/TLS in production between the app and our servers. This is encryption in transit. It is not end-to-end encryption of paystub contents, and temporary processing files and purchase identifiers on our servers are not advertised as encrypted at rest. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; please avoid uploading paystubs that contain unnecessary sensitive identifiers when possible.
Your choices
- You may choose not to use PScanner.
- You may skip optional email delivery.
- You may contact us with privacy questions or requests using the email below.
Children
PScanner is not intended for users under 18 years of age. By using the app you confirm you are at least 18.
International users
If you use PScanner from outside Canada, your information may be processed in Canada or in regions where our service providers operate (including providers that may process data in the United States), subject to applicable law.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of PScanner after changes means you accept the updated policy.
